Today was orientation at RTS. It was mostly a lot of not-very-exciting information in a small amount of time. But it was good to meet other first year students. It was also good to get out of the house and get started with seminary, since that is the whole reason I moved.
With orientation finished, I am even more excited to begin taking classes (they start on Wednesday). I was once again encouraged by the caliber of the faculty. They truly seem to be pastor-scholars: leaders in their fields, but still approachable and interested in your life. Everyone, from the faculty to the staff to the students, seems to be passionate about their love for God and their commitment to faithful ministry.
To everybody back in Arizona: I miss y'all already. I appreciate your friendship and support. You are a huge encouragement. I also appreciate your prayers. I am happy to report that my car did not break down; instead, it got the best mileage I've ever seen. Here are some new things to pray about:
- That I find a job (this is pretty urgent).
- That I find a church (while important, this feels less urgent than the job).
- That I glorify God in my studies as learn to love God with all my mind.
- That in the midst of my studies, I would not forget to love God with my heart and strength as well.
- That I would form meaningful friendships with my classmates and professors.

Shouldn't you update your description to be "current seminarian"?
You used y'all! I will not read your blog if you do that! No really, I am glad you made it. I miss you too and will definitely pray for you buddy. And I will still read your blog if you use y'all, but it will make me very angry! Talk to you soon...
Adam! Congrats on the move and all the best in NC. Did I ever say I think you're a-some?... Maybe not---, but in other ways I like to think it was always implied. Take care buddy!
